Background[]

FRESSSAKK was the first game in creator Der Luch's eight game freely downloadable game series programmed between STERNENKRIEGER and its following release. As a musician, these games were programmed quickly with a simple, no frills mentality similar to that of a "jam session". Most games were designed with intuitive game mechanics and a lack of things such as stages, levels, upgrades, bosses, etc., and in this way were not as much of an investment of Der Luch's time as a larger release game as STERNENKRIEGER or Irrelevant. The original intent was not to be released as a physical cartridge and it wasn't until an almost unanimous public outcry that Der Luch decided to combine the eight games with VecFahren for the release of the N.D.W. 2014 Multicart.

On July 6, 2014, FRESSSAKK was released as a freely downloadable ROM. Der Luchs requested that players post their scores and several people participated. On July 25, Der Luchs let those players in on a secret that they had been participating in a clandestine competition to which Chris N. Parsons was the winner. For his skill, he was awarded the FRESSSAKK HighScore Edition. A full list of participants and their scores is as follows:

  1. cNp - 1074
  2. Vectrexer - 780
  3. binarystar - 668
  4. 50brd - 586
  5. hcmffm/Rapetou33 - 377
  6. jfmateos - 217

Differences between FRESSSAKK ROM and FRESSSAKK - HighScore Edition[]

Gameplay[]

The player controls Mr. Fresssakk and must collect as many dots as possible with his stinger while avoiding the "C" enemies. As dots are collected, the "C" enemies will increase in speed and it will become much more difficult to avoid them.

Controls[]

Main Menu[]

  • Begin game-button 1

In-game[]

  • Move Mr Fresssakk-joystick or D-pad

Scoring[]

Scoring is maintained both for the total number of points awarded for each dot collected, which is randomly between 1, 5 and 10 points, as well as the number of dots collected for each life.
